On this page I'll describe how I went about researching my family tree in the hope that it will inspire others to give it
a try. I'll talk about the process I used and any tools or software I found helpful. I might also include links to
interesting genealogy web sites I came across in the course of doing my research, such as:
One of the first places I started was Family Search. It has great links as well but you can start your search there. As I
got better, I found census records , marriage records , death records , cemetery records etc..also people who do lookups are
wonderful. I did not have many family members on the West side to ask so I started with very little info. But now I have the
Taylor's to the 1700's and the Gillilands a few generations back and still working on them as well. The Bennett's are really
hard but will keep on looking. It is hard for me as I live in Alaska and all my family is from Ohio and Wv and PA so all my
work has been done online. I do hope to get outside this year and visit the places that they are from.
